The Creative Commons project Spain began in February 2003 when the University Barcelona decided to find a system to publish educational material modeled on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was decided to opt for the system Creative Commons licenses and establishing a working agreement whereby the University of Barcelona would lead the proposed change in licensing the English State in Castilian and Catalan.
In February 2004 we opened a discussion list about licensing which involved many people. From the day October 1, 2004 Creative Commons licenses adapted to intellectual property law of the English State are available to all in Castilian and Catalan.
